Showcasing individuals in Hertfordshire whose lived experience of disability demonstrates the transformative power of sport.

As part of No Limits 2026 - Hertfordshire's Year of Disability Sport & Physical Activity we have established an Ambassador Programme. It will celebrate individuals in Hertfordshire whose lived experience of disability demonstrates the transformative power of sport. These ambassadors, drawn from grassroots to elite levels, including athletes, coaches, volunteers, and professional roles, will embody the values of inclusivity, participation, and achievement.

The programme’s objectives are clear:

  • Raise the profile of No Limits 2026 across Hertfordshire.
  • Provide inspiring role models for disabled and non‑disabled participants alike.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of inclusive sport and physical activity.
  • Strengthen community engagement through ambassador involvement in events, awards, and outreach.
  • Bridge grassroots delivery with high‑profile advocacy, ensuring disability sport is championed at every level.
  • Support ambassador development, offering them opportunities to collaborate, learn, and grow as leaders in the field.

Ambassadors will play a visible role throughout the year, attending showcase events & festivals, presenting awards, speaking at workshops, and sharing their stories across media and community platforms. Their diverse representation across sports, disabilities, ages, and backgrounds ensures the programme reflects the breadth of Hertfordshire’s community.

The first milestone for the Ambassador programme was a 'Tell your Story Workshop' that ran on Thursday 29th January for all those onboarded so far. Three of the more experienced ambassadors mentored our cohort to chart their journey and learn how to tell their story with confidence.

Following on from the workshop, our ambassadors will be provided with further opportunities to upskill and develop in a variety of areas throughout the year. Many are now ready to share their sporting story with wider audiences, and we know they will make excellent role models for the No Limits 2026 campaign.

Ambassador Deployment - Advise us of your events

We have now onboarded a diverse group of 40 individuals and their profiles will be added to the website in the coming weeks so please take a look: No Limits 2026 Ambassadors. They represent a range of ages, disabilities and various roles within the Sport and Physical activity sector so we are able to start deploying them in the community to attend events and help share their lived experience of the transformative power of sport in support of the No Limits 2026 Campaign.

Please help us to build a calendar of events that they may be able to support by making us aware of any that you have coming up throughout the year via the link below. We cannot promise that an ambassador will be available, or suitable for the requirements of your event, but we will try our best to accommodate where possible. This could be a keynote speech in a school or club setting, or attendance at a community participatory event, or key strategic meeting/event.
