New Role Available - Crime Reduction through Sport Officer

Could you develop effective links with key partners (local and national), ensuring sport is connected to local violence reduction?

In a pioneering move, Hertfordshire has announced the appointment of a Crime Reduction through Sport Officer, a key figure tasked with orchestrating efforts to curb crime and serious violent incidents through strategic sports initiatives. Working in collaboration with partners, especially Street Games UK and Hertfordshire Constabulary, the officer will be at the forefront of collecting and reviewing data to shape ongoing development and evaluation of crime reduction priorities and programs.

The Crime Reduction through Sport Officer's mandate extends to forging effective links with key partners at both local and national levels, ensuring that sports are seamlessly integrated into violence reduction and prevention strategies. Their responsibilities include co-creating the new Hertfordshire Crime & Serious Violent Crime Reduction through Sport Strategy and identifying and securing relevant funding sources.

A critical aspect of the role involves developing a robust intervention and commissioning framework. The officer will oversee the direct delivery and commissioning of evidence-based interventions to reduce and prevent crime and serious violent crime within the community. This multifaceted approach underscores the commitment to addressing crime through innovative and community-driven solutions.
