The Herts Sports and Physical Activity Partnership is currently formulating its Strategic Plan for the 2021-25 period, with a proposed June launch date.

The new strategy will build on the existing Strategic Plan, which has served the Partnership well over recent years and will seek to build on Uniting The Movement – Sport England’s recently launched strategy, which sets out its aims and aspirations for the next decade.

Work undertaken to date by the Partnership has prioritised 5 key areas that will form the basis of its new Strategy in support of its Mission-  which has remained constant since the Partnership’s inception in 2003 – More People, More Active, More Often.

The Partnership is now seeking the views of the wider sport and physical activity sector from across Hertfordshire, as to whether those priorities are indeed the right ones and what might be required for their successful delivery, over the period of the new Strategic Plan.

To this end, HSP has commissioned independent consultants, Darren Lawrence Coaching and Consulting, to undertake this consultation by way of a series of webinars, where the views of key agencies and those involved in the wider sector can help shape the Partnership’s direction over the coming years, to ensure that it best meets the needs and aspirations of its myriad partners, stakeholders and those communities that it serves.

Details of the forthcoming webinar series, together with registration links are as follows:

In welcoming this initiative, HSP Partnership Director, John O’Callaghan said:

‘It is imperative that we listen to and take on board the views of the wider sport and physical activity sector in Hertfordshire, as we formulate our next Strategic Plan. The forthcoming interactive webinar series will help provide a timely opportunity for us to check our proposed direction and priorities, with representatives of the wider sector who are likely to be impacted most by our work.

‘I hope as many as possible will attend one or more of these webinars and give us an honest and forthright opinion about the proposed direction of travel and how, particularly as we move out of the current pandemic, we can see investment in sport and physical activity used to the very best effect, as part of a sustained recovery effort for our communities.’
