Workshops to Shape Future Training Needs in Sports Industry

Three workshops are designed to support local sports and physical activity employers by helping you identify future training and development needs

Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership (HSP) and the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) are thrilled to announce three upcoming workshops in July. These workshops are designed to support local sports and physical activity employers by helping you identify future training and development needs.

Identifying Training Needs for the Future:

The primary objective of these workshops is to provide employers with valuable information about the forthcoming Organisational Training Needs Analysis (OTNA) exercise, scheduled for autumn 2023. Those participating will be able to communicate their skills gaps and outline their future training requirements directly to HSP and CIMSPA.

Building on Past Insights:

Notably, a previous skills analysis was conducted in 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, which resulted in limited responses. However, the survey provided a valuable snapshot of the needs of employers and self-employed individuals within Hertfordshire’s sport and physical activity sector. Based on the findings, certain areas were identified as top priorities for local employers.

Upcoming Workshops:

To actively engage employers, HSP and CIMSPA have organised in-person and online workshops. The details are as follows:

  • In-person workshop:
    • Date: Thursday, July 27th
    • Time: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
    • Venue: University of Hertfordshire Enterprise Hub
    • Register here

  • Online webinars:

Booking Information:

To reserve a spot for the in-person workshop, please email Chris Fennell, HSP Workforce Development Project Officer, at c.fennell2@herts.ac.uk. Please follow the links above book your space for the online webinars.

Save the dates and spread the word about these workshops. Let’s collaborate to build a stronger and more resilient sports and physical activity sector in Hertfordshire. Together, we can make a significant impact on the training and development landscape of the industry.
