Mental Health Champions
Access Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity+ eLearning training free of charge by becoming a Mental Health Champion. Mind and UK Coaching have developed this training to help those operating in sport and physical gain the confidence to support people experiencing mental health conditions effectively and learn how to empower positive change and development.
The course typically takes 2-3 hours to complete. Once finished learners will be better equipped to:

better understand mental health, including the misconceptions and how to recognise the red flags.

appreciate the impact that sport and physical activity can have on mental health.

recognise the barriers to participating in physical activity, and learn about practical strategies to use to adapt your sessions to overcome them.

understand and connect with people and provide an inclusive, welcoming experience for all.

communicate effectively and offer appropriate guidance.

be confident about opening and holding a conversation about mental health with someone you coach.

make your club or organisation more inclusive, and better prepared to be able to support people experiencing mental health challenges.
To become a Mental Health Champion and obtain a free license to this training, you are not expected to be a mental health expert and no prior experience is required. You just need to be committed to promoting positive mental wellbeing in the setting you operate.
