High Sheriff Honours Stephen Cadwell for Dedication to Cassiobury Junior parkrun
Stephen, a volunteer with over 100 sessions under his belt, is known for stepping up to help, even after night shifts.
The High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, Annie Brewster JP presented parkrun volunteer Stephen Cadwell a Celebration of parkrun Award at Cassiobury Junior parkrun in Watford for outstanding contribution to the parkrun community. This event culminated The High Sheriffs visits of all the Hertfordshire parkruns and junior parkruns, in total 34 fantastic parkruns thriving with a tremendous amount of community spirit at them all! The High Sheriff has thoroughly enjoyed thanking all the volunteers involved in making the Hertfordshire parkruns such a success and excellent opportunity to be active in Hertfordshire.
Stephen has been such an asset to Cassiobury junior parkrun since the very beginning and has volunteered over 100 times. He is always willing to help out in a pinch and often arrives early in the morning on a Sunday to ‘save’ the team when they are short on volunteers - without even having to ask! This is sometimes off the back of a night shift, a true testament to Stephen’s kindness and commitment to helping others. His calm, quiet, friendly nature is so appreciated by all of the team. Stephen has set himself a challenge of volunteering at all the Hertfordshire parkruns and junior parkruns next year!
“Delighted to present volunteer marshal Stephen Cadwell at the fabulous Cassiobury Juniors parkrun with a Herts High Sheriff and Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership 'Celebration of parkrun' Award for his outstanding contribution to the parkrun community. Stephen has volunteered over 100 times, sometimes, following a night shift. He is aiming to volunteer at all Hertfordshire parkruns (by public transport!). Calm and quiet, he is always willing to help everyone out. Thank you to Stephen, Run Director Alina Barac and your wonderful team.”
The High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, Annie Brewster JP
