Deputy Lieutenant Air Vice Marshall Nick Kurth CBE, has joined the Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire Revolution as a Champion. Nick is a keen mountaineer, rock climber, cyclist and is sold on the notion of sports and outdoor activities for all ages. Nick has led many sporting organisations and was responsible for starting the Berkhamsted Cycling Clubk, which celebrates its 10-year anniversary in September this year.

Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership (HSP) is so grateful to be supported by the Lieutenancy and to have had Deputy Lieutenant AVM Nick Kurth CBE attend the Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire Celebration Day on 5th September, at the University of Hertfordshire's de Havilland campus in Hatfield.
The Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire movement, funded by Hertfordshire County Council, recognises the integral role that older adults play in strengthening our communities and champions the importance of being active to enable independence and encourage longer, healthier and happier lives.
The event featured an opening address from Nick, who spoke about the importance of staying active in his own life and his top-tips to an active lifestyle.
“Deputy Lieutenant Nick Kurth understands the ethos of Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire. Nick is a keen cyclist and took particular joy in taking part in the Adaptive Cycling session! We are so pleased to have such a fantastic new Champion!”
