NEW Parachute and Leaves
Parachute and Leaf Song
Invite the children to go and select some leaves from your outdoor environment. Place the parachute outside and get the children to slowly lift the parachute up and down without the leaves replicating a gentle breeze. Then gradually introduce the leaves and increase the speed replicating a windy and stormy enviroment.
After this go inside and with the leaves the children have collected and place them in the centre of the space. Ask the children to find a leaf of any colour and then sing the song “red leaves falling, red leaves falling, on the ground, on the ground, autumn time is coming, autumn time is coming, all around, all around”.
Repeat this with each coloured leaf, as you sing the song get the children to first of all seated, lift the leaf up and then let go and let it float down and then repeat this activity standing up singing the song.
