NEW Jack and the Beanstalk

Jack and the Beanstalk

Invite the children to talk about all of the characters in the story. Get the children to make themselves into the smallest person they can become to be representative of a bean tuck their head and their shoulders in and curl up on the floor. As the music starts, the children will start to grow as a beanstalk extending up onto their knees then one leg then second leg up to standing and extending their hands to become a beanstalk.

As the story unfolds the children can be the different characters, they can be Jack and they can also be the giant. Think about all the different movements and vocabulary as educators you can introduce to this story to extend the opportunities for children to move.

MUSIC SUGGESTIONS:

Gershwin - Rhapsody in Blue
