Cars

Give each child a quoit and this will be their steering wheel. Lets imagine we are in our vehicles, check over our shoulder, seatbelts on, foot on the pedal. When the music starts get the children to drive around the space, children have to move around without bumping into each other. You can also extend this activity by going down the hill including that squatting motion and going up a hill going onto toes.

Then begin to incorporate a traffic light system using spots or coloured paper as the traffic light colours red, amber and green. Get the children to recognise the different colours and respond to the actions.

To finish the activity get the children to use their quoits, place their hands on top and push their quoits to follow the path that the quoits take. This is a great activity for accuracy and hand eye coordination.
