Inclusion 2028

The Youth Sport Trust’s (YST) Lead Inclusion School network supports the delivery of Inclusion 2028, a three-year, Department for Education funded programme designed to create school sport & physical activity environments that are inspiring, accessible, and meaningful for every pupil. This is achieved through targeted interventions, the delivery of inclusive events, and the upskilling of practitioners.

The Youth Sport Trust’s Lead Inclusion School network also works in partnership with local School Games Organisers to provide support and ensure a high-quality inclusive offer for young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), within the School Games. This includes promoting equal opportunities to participate, as well as helping young people with SEND to develop leadership skills they can put into practice.

In Hertfordshire, Inclusion 2028 is led by Anne Marie Riddle and Mary Szulikowski who are based at our Lead Inclusion School, Pinewood School in Ware.

Inclusion 2028 will be the main focus of the Children and Young People work as part of No Limits 2026 Campaign and Hertfordshire’s Year of Disability Sport and Physical Activity.
