Summer Parks 

Herts Summer Parks Programme is an initiative aimed at 12–16-year-olds over the summer holiday period. The programme takes place in public parks throughout the county, offering a variety of sports, wellbeing, and arts and crafts activities as well as providing the young people with a voucher to redeem a nutritious meal from a local food provider.

Junior parkrun  

A free, fun, friendly, weekly community event organised by volunteers of all ages for children aged 4 to 14. 2km junior parkrun events take place on Sunday mornings – a great introduction for all the family to be physically active outside together – walk, run, jog, spectate, or volunteer.

HAPpy 

HAPpy camps are available for children and young people from reception to year 11, who are in receipt of benefits related free school meals and camps take place at holiday breaks. Please contact haf@herts.ac.uk for more details or visit the website here.  

 

Youth Link  

A free social prescribing service that can link you with a range of local services to improve your mental wellbeing. This early intervention and prevention service is offered to children aged 10-18 years old and applicable to individuals registered with a doctor within the West Herts area: Watford/Three Rivers/Dacorum/Hertsmere/St Albans.

Beezee 

A free, fun, healthy lifestyle programmes for people in Hertfordshire. 

Access free, in-person and online programmes in Hertfordshire, offering support for children and young people aged 0-17. Find support that’s right for your family.  

  • Beezee Families – child healthy weight programme 

  • Beezee youth – health and wellbeing programme for teenagers 

  • HENRY – for parents or carers with children aged 0-5yrs

ParkPlay 

ParkPlay is two hours of free fun every Saturday in local parks and open spaces. It’s delivered by the local community, for the local community.  

Register once and play for free always.  

Current provision is in Bishop’s Stortford, Broxbourne, and Hemel Hempstead.
