12 Days of Christmas Campaign

As the festive season approaches, we are thrilled to unveil the Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire ’12 Days of Christmas’ campaign.

Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership lead a revolutionary movement known as Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire, seeking to use physical and social activity to encourage longer, healthier and happier lives for older adults in Hertfordshire. Ultimately, our ambitions are to help change local attitudes and replace the concept of care with one of enablement for our local older people.

As the festive season approaches, we are thrilled to unveil the Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire ’12 Days of Christmas’ campaign – seeking to transcend the ordinary and embrace a new tradition of purposeful and healthy gift giving.

Search online for ‘What to buy an older person for Christmas’, and the results are rather predictable – alcohol, socks or a scarf, maybe something nostalgic or a mug. All nice gifts, but none will help improve the strength, skills, stamina and suppleness of the older people in your life. The "12 Days of Christmas" campaign aims to encourage people to think creatively about presents that could be useful and improve the wellbeing of our older relatives and friends.

Between 1st – 12th December, we will use our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram and X) to share a new idea for alternative gifts for the older people in our lives that could help recondition, rejuvenate and reduce their risk of dementia. You can see the complete gift guide below if you can't wait that long.

Why not make 2023 the year you give gifts that enable your older loved ones to Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire.
