The Power of Movement in Promoting Young People's Mental Resilience

An East of England learn, share, collaborate event that will explore how movement can help build resilience in primary aged children.

Hosted by the East of England’s network of Active Partnerships, this learn, share, collaborate event will dive into how community-based activities can nurture emotional strength and support primary-aged children in developing the resilience needed to thrive in today’s complex world.

  • Tuesday 3rd June

  • 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

  • Online via Microsoft Teams

In the wake of the pandemic, supporting young people’s ability to adapt and recover from adversity is more important than ever. With 50% of mental health issues established by age 14 and 1 in 5 adolescents experiencing a mental health problem each year, early intervention is critical.

This event will spotlight the positive impact of community-based physical activity on children’s emotional development, offering tools and insights to help you make a real difference.

Attendees can expect to:

  • Gain enhanced understanding of how physical activity supports children’s mental health and resilience.

  • Hear real-world examples of successful programmes and local initiatives already making a difference across the East of England.

  • Take part in collaborative discussions designed to solve practical challenges and align future efforts with local needs.

  • Contribute to shaping the next steps in countywide strategies for supporting young people’s mental resilience.

Whether you're a teacher, coach, youth worker, policymaker or simply passionate about children’s wellbeing, this is your chance to join a region-wide movement for mental health through physical activity.
