Sports Structures - Safeguarding

We offer a range of workshops to meet the needs of the sporting community. These include essential training such as Safeguarding and Time to Listen courses, as well as a range of workshops to help clubs plan and develop.

Safeguarding Children Course

If you coach, lead or support children in sport, paid or voluntary, this workshop is for you.

We would recommend that you check with your National Governing Body to make sure this training meets their requirements. The NSPCC recommends that anyone with regular responsibility for children and young people should complete training delivered in person or via a virtual classroom. Our workshops meet this requirement.

Adults Safeguarding Course

This workshop is designed for individuals involved in delivering or organising adult sport. Safeguarding is a minimum deployment requirement for many sports governing bodies, representing the essential standards every coach must meet to ensure safe and effective practice. The online classroom is suitable for:

  • Coaches, leaders, instructors, and volunteers delivering adult sport programmes
  • Development officers, administrators, and parents supporting adult sport
  • Organisers and decision-makers within governing bodies, local authorities, leisure centres, and sports clubs

As safeguarding requirements vary, it's important to check with your sport’s governing body to determine whether attending a safeguarding workshop is required before beginning your coaching role. Each governing body sets its own standards for safeguarding training, so confirming their specific expectations will help ensure you meet the necessary criteria for safe and responsible practice.
