The Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership (HSP) and Herts County Council (HCC) Public Health are delighted to invite you to the 'South & West Herts Active Connections Conference: Embedding Physical Activity into Healthcare''.
Date: Monday 2nd February 2026.
Time: 09.00 - 13.00
Location: Hertsmere Civic Offices, Borehamwood
In March 2025, NHS England made it clear that being physical active isn't just good for us, it's essential. NHS England is urging health leaders and care professionals to take a far more ambitious approach to embedding movement into every stage of healthcare and everyday life:
“Physical activity is essential to health and wellbeing and there is overwhelming evidence that the benefits of physical activity far outweigh any risks for both adults and children, even for those with a long-term health condition. Embedding physical activity into every aspect of life-long healthcare will benefit patients, NHS staff and the wider population”.
Building on the success of the county-wide Active Connections Conference in December 2024, we are hosting this event to give healthcare professionals in South & West Herts a deeper understanding of how to embed physical activity within healthcare settings. Join us to hear from expert keynote speakers who will share national and local insights into integrating physical activity within healthcare. You’ll discover useful resources, deepen your knowledge, and explore real-world examples of how physical activity is helping to address health inequalities across South & West Herts.
The event will also feature a series of bespoke workshops, offering an opportunity to explore key topics in greater depth (see details below).
