Play, move and feel better: HSP supports Just Talk’s November campaign

Get ready for the campaign, encouraging open conversations about mental health through the power of play, often a component of physical activity

The Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership (HSP) is proud to support the upcoming Just Talk ‘Find Your Fun’ campaign, running from 16–20 November 2026, which encourages children and young people across Hertfordshire to discover the power of play for mental wellbeing.

Led by Hertfordshire Public Health, this year’s theme, The Power of Play, highlights how play at every age supports emotional resilience, confidence and overall wellbeing. The campaign encourages everyone aged 10 to 20 to make time for the activities they enjoy, from sport and creative hobbies to spending time with friends, as effective ways to manage stress and improve mood.

As a Just Talk partner, HSP will help share these positive messages with young people, parents and carers across its networks, including through schools, social media and community events during campaign week. The Partnership will emphasise the strong link between play and physical activity, demonstrating how being active in enjoyable and social ways can significantly benefit both mental and physical health.

Throughout November, Just Talk and partners across Hertfordshire will be sharing simple ideas to help families “find their fun”, including local opportunities through clubs, youth groups and outdoor activities. All resources and details can be found on the Just Talk website, alongside signposting to local support for young people and families.

By celebrating play in all its forms, the campaign reminds us that looking after mental health doesn’t have to be complicated — it can start by simply making time to have fun.
