Over £430k Secured for Sport and Physical Activity Projects in Hertfordshire
2024-25 was a fantastic year for physical activity funding applications in Hertfordshire, with 31 successful bids securing funding of a total £433,23

Over the past 12 months, working closely with our long-standing partner Funding 4 Sport (F4S), we have helped secure an incredible £433,233 in external funding for local sport and physical activity projects across Hertfordshire.
This funding has supported clubs, communities, and initiatives making a real difference to people’s lives in Hertfordshire. Altogether, these 31 successful funding bids have contributed to projects with a value of over £715,000.
The funding has been able to support a wide range of communities across the county:
- Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire projects were awarded £167,872 for projects aimed at helping older adults stay active, connected, and independent.
- Environmental Sustainability projects received £109,309, supporting clubs in becoming greener and more energy efficient.
- Special Projects, unique, community-driven initiatives which have a niche focus – secured £64,335 in funding.
- Active Local, which focus on reducing inactivity and inequality in HSPs 10 priority areas, were successful in bringing in £14,683 for localised community support.
- HACO Projects, supporting cultural and community projects across Hertfordshire, secured £77,033 for five projects.
A priority for 2026 will be to attract external funding for a range of Disability Sport and Physical Activity projects, in support of our planned Year of Disability Sport and Physical Activity - aimed at helping to create even more inclusive opportunities in Hertfordshire.
Summarising our successful partnership with F4S, which has now been running for 10 years — we have worked together to secure £3.75 million in external funding for sport and physical activity across the county.
This has consisted of 272 successful applications, with a value of over £6.2 million, towards the delivery of much needed projects.
“We would like to thank Funding4Sport, and all our partner organisations who have supported the delivery of these projects in Hertfordshire, getting More People, More Active, More Often.” - John O'Callaghan, HSP Partnership Director
