Over £100K raised for sustainable sports projects in Hertfordshire

Innovative initiative raises significant funds to support sustainability in Hertfordshire

HSP, in partnership with Funding 4 Sport, has reached a fantastic milestone – over £100K has been secured for local sport and physical activity projects that improve Environmentally Sustainability in Hertfordshire.

So far we have secured £129K to support 10 varied and vital community projects with a total project cost of £303,826.

Sample projects include upgraded LED lighting, club house insulation and an inclusive outdoor energy gym.

In all cases, the new or upgraded facilities have enabled the club to open their facilities for longer and to new user groups, and ultimately to increase levels of participation.

“Sport has a great opportunity to lead the way and advocate for climate action to limit the worst effects of climate change and protect the sports and activities we love. We have an inclusive and vibrant sport sector in Hertfordshire, and we want to do our bit to support its sustainability journey” Commented Adrian Ledbury, Environmental Sustainability lead at HSP.

The initiative involves using Funding4Sport expertise,  a specialist sport and physical activity bid writing service, who provide FREE bespoke support for eligible sports clubs or organisations, to access the funds they need.
