New Mini Movers Content Launched in Hertfordshire

Explore new activity ideas and practical guidance to help young children build confidence and enjoyment in movement from the very start

Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership is delighted to announce that new content has been added to the Herts Mini Movers toolkit, giving professionals and families even more inspiration to help young children move, play and thrive.

Herts Mini Movers is a free online toolkit designed to support physical activity in the Early Years. Funded by Hertfordshire County Council and developed by movement specialist Helen Battelley, the bank of resources support settings and families with practical tips and easy to implement ideas to promote phyiscal activity in Early Years Settings.

Whats New? 

Recent updates include a range of activity ideas such as:

  • Activities using minimal equipment
  • Cultural activities including Diwali and Chinese New Year
  • Action rhymes and movement-based play
  • Helen's Lens 

All activities are designed to be inclusive, fun and simple to implement, helping children build confidence and enjoyment in movement from an early age.

New Video Feature: Helen’s Lens

A new video feature, Helen’s Lens, has been added to the bank of resources. In this video, Helen Battelley takes viewers on a walk through a nursery environment, sharing simple, practical tips on how everyday spaces can be adapted to encourage more movement and play.
