As the No Limits 2026 campaign begins HSP have been drawing together insight on disbled people to support our sectors knowledge on this audience in order to shift change in systems and opportunities.
In partnership with Press Red, HSP has worked hard to update the existing Physical Activity Story Map and has created two brand‑new tiles in addition to the previous eight that explore both physical‑activity‑related insight and data, as well as the barriers affecting disabled people. It is vital that the sector continues to be driven by data to understand and take action to improve opportunities for disabled people, and HSP believes that this will make it more accessible.
The new Disability tiles cover the following topics and create a central place for insight pulled from various Hertfordshire and National sources to help tell the story and leverage funding into the sector.
Introduction
How we define disability
Why disabled people need better opportunities to be active
The disabled population in Hertfordshire
Physical activity levels among disabled people
How impairment types vary across the life course
The impact on wellbeing and life satisfaction
Introduction
Different barriers for disabled and non-disabled people
What disabled people are telling us
Safety guidance for physical activity and disability
The important role of healthcare professionals
