Mental Health Awareness Week 2024

Mental Health Awareness Week 2024 starts today, so why not get Moving More for our Mental Health

Mental Health Awareness Week is this week, and it is time to focus on an issue affecting many people daily. This year’s theme is ‘Movement: Moving More for our Mental Health.’ Movement is not just about keeping our bodies fit but also about our mental health.

4 in 10 adults are currently not meeting the NHS recommended physical activity guidelines and yet, one of the best things we can do for our mental health and wellbeing is to be active. With this in mind, as part of Mental Health Awareness week, we would like to encourage you to visit the Moving More Activity Finder, which can help Hertfordshire residents discover local and the latest activities.

We also have the opportunity for residents and organisations to become Mental Health Champions. Below are the details and some of what you can expect to receive. Champions have been proven to help you and those around you thrive.

  • Free Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity training which can be done in your own time.
  • A Mental Health Champions e-handbook.
  • Invitations to quarterly forums to share best practices, identify areas for support, and speak to fellow champions.
