Are you part of a community group or charity that might like financial support to try something new? How about white water rafting, kayaking, track or BMX cycling, hockey or perhaps athletics or ice skating? Lee Valley Regional Park offers all of these and more.
To help make these experiences available to everyone, the park has created a Community Access Fund (CAF) and Active Communities Grant Scheme to pay for activities or travel for groups who need it most. The funding is available to not-for-profits, charities, voluntary and community groups to apply for.
Lee Valley Regional Park is a tapestry of world class sport and leisure facilities and award winning open spaces that stretches from Ware in Hertfordshire, through Essex and north east London to the Thames.
“Over time we’ve built incredible sport and leisure facilities that attract millions of visits every year. We know that times are hard, particularly for groups, charities and schools supporting local communities, so we created two funding programmes to remove the barrier of cost where we can.”
Jack Pringle, Senior Active Communities Manager for park custodians Lee Valley Regional Park Authority.
Thousands of people have already benefitted from the Authority’s Community Access Fund and Active Communities Grant Scheme – from youth groups, young carers, NHS charities and u3a groups – all creating memorable experiences for young and old.
Lee Valley Regional Park Authority (LVRPA) want to make sure community groups in Hertfordshire benefit from their funding opportunities and come to experience the thrill of rafting on white water rapids at Lee Valley White Water Centre at Waltham Cross, cycling on the world’s fastest track at Lee Valley VeloPark or skating at the award winning Lee Valley Ice Centre.
These sport and leisure facilities provide opportunities for people to experience something new, building confidence and a great chance to make memories and new friends.
