Latest Annual Impact Report Captures Success Across HSP’s Strategic Priorities

HSP continues to make significant progress towards achieving its strategic priorities as demonstrated by the latest 2025/26 Annual Impact Report.

In June 2026, the Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership (HSP) published its latest Annual Impact Report, showcasing the achievements and impact delivered throughout 2025/26. The report provides a comprehensive snapshot of the partnership’s work over the past year, aligning with HSP’s Strategic Plan, and demonstrating how collaborative working with partners has helped advance its core mission of enabling more people to become more active, with an emphasis on tackling inequalities.

The report highlights several significant achievements across HSP’s strategic priorities. A total of £280,000 was invested through the Supported Places Project, helping to ensure physical activity opportunities are targeted where they are needed most. HSP also recorded 3,508 attendances at training, continuing professional development (CPD), and flagship events, underlining its ongoing commitment to developing a skilled and confident workforce across the sector.

Within the health agenda, the Active Practice Charter programme continues to grow, with more than one-third of GP surgeries across Hertfordshire now enrolled as Active Practices. Meanwhile, HSP’s work with Hertfordshire Community Foundation has continued to make a significant contribution through the HAPpy programme, which saw 433 holiday camps delivered by 75 providers during 2025/26. These camps provide a range of positive experiences, including physical activity, enrichment activities, healthy meals and snacks for eligible children and young people from Reception to Year 11 who are in receipt of benefits-related free school meals.

Supporting clubs, coaches and volunteers remains a key focus for the partnership. The annual Clubs Conference and Coach Education Week were once again standout events, attracting over 120 attendees to the conference, and engaging more than 430 individuals through a series of workshops and learning opportunities during Coach Education Week.

HSP’s work in Crime Reduction Through Sport also continued to gain momentum. The Crime Reduction Through Sport Conference, held in December 2025, welcomed over 120 professionals from across multiple sectors to explore the role that structured sport and physical activity can play in preventing crime, reducing antisocial behaviour, and creating positive pathways for young people. The event reinforced the growing recognition of sport as a powerful tool for supporting safer and more resilient communities.

While celebrating these achievements, HSP recognises that there is still more to be done. The partnership remains committed to delivering against all of its strategic objectives and is continuing to plan for the future to ensure sport and physical activity remain accessible, relevant and impactful across Hertfordshire. This includes an increased focus on active environments and the environmental sustainability of provision, supported by initiatives such as the Herts Football Sustainable Transport Project.

HSP would like to thank all of its partners for their continued commitment, collaboration and support throughout the year. The partnership looks forward to building on this success and continuing to work with organisations across Hertfordshire during 2026/27. The full Annual Impact Report can be viewed here, and both Adrian Ledbury and Daniel Angus would be pleased to answer any questions regarding its contents.
