Inclusive Tennis Showcase Brings Together Over 60 Attendees in Herts

Coaches, volunteers and players came together to learn, collaborate and build confidence in delivering more inclusive tennis across the region.

More than 60 coaches, volunteers, partners and players came together on Thursday 26th March for the Herts Tennis & Middlesex LTA Inclusive Tennis Showcase and Coaching Forum at Better Gosling Sports Park, a collaborative event designed to highlight the breadth of inclusive tennis opportunities across both counties.

The day opened with partner updates before everyone headed onto the courts for a series of practical demonstrations. Attendees had the chance to watch and take part in sessions covering wheelchair tennis, visually impaired tennis, learning disability tennis, walking tennis and para standing tennis. They also observed activity delivered by groups from Headway Herts and Access Sport who showcased how to adapt a session to coach neurodiverse participants.

Players from across the region showcased how inclusive tennis has supported their physical, social and emotional wellbeing, offering powerful insight into the difference accessible tennis programmes can make. Their involvement also highlighted the potential to reach even more people by engaging additional clubs and venues.

The event was supported by a strong network of partners, including Better Gosling Sports Park, Headway Herts, Access Sport, Dementia Adventure, Herts based GB Visually Impaired player Ivan Deb, and Ambassadors of the No Limits 2026 campaign. Their commitment and collaboration were central to delivering a high‑quality experience for all involved.

Feedback from attendees has been extremely positive, with many reporting increased confidence in delivering inclusive sessions and a desire to expand provision within their own venues. The showcase has already sparked conversations around further training, shared resources and future joint initiatives across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

The event demonstrated the growing momentum behind inclusive tennis and the collective ambition to continue opening the sport to more people across the region.
