HSP wins at Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards
HSP is celebrating a prestigious win after being named the winner of the Diversity and Inclusion Award at the 2025 Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards.

The Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership, was recognised for its sector-leading initiatives aimed at removing barriers to participation and improving access to physical activity across the county.
The Diversity and Inclusion Award, presented by the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, celebrates businesses and organisations that are actively creating more inclusive environments. The judges commended HSP for “using the power of sport and physical activity to transform lives and tackle disadvantage and inequality.”
The panel also praised the organisation’s work in “supporting schools to work towards developing physically literate and active young people,” alongside its delivery of “a comprehensive holiday activity programme for the most disadvantaged children in Hertfordshire.” Judges further noted the Partnership’s proactive efforts in “attracting a broader, more representative talent pool” and championing diversity at every level.
“Using sport and physical activity to tackle key social issues and combat inequality is at the heart of HSP’s purpose, so we were delighted that our work has been recognised by the Chamber. We have worked hard to strengthen some of our processes to become a truly inclusive employer, and we are committed to continuing our improvement journey.” commented Adrian Ledbury (HSP’s Strategic Lead for Transformation).
Now in its 101st year, the Inspiring Herts Awards took place on Thursday 26th June 2025 at the Tewinbury Farm Hotel. The masquerade-themed gala evening brought together leading figures from across the county to celebrate the innovation, inclusion and resilience that define Hertfordshire’s business and community landscape. The awards were proudly sponsored by Viatris and SA Law.
Chamber CEO Donna Schultz said, “Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership shows us how the power of sport can be a vehicle for real, inclusive change. Their dedication to tackling inequality, supporting young people, and building inclusive spaces for participation is nothing short of inspiring. By weaving diversity and accessibility into every strand of their work, they are helping to reshape community health and wellbeing across Hertfordshire. Their impact is not only measurable, but transformative—a blueprint for equity-driven public service.”
