England Football is on a mission to make the game more inclusive for disabled people by creating a culture where everyone has access to opportunities and feels they truly belong on and off the pitch. A key part of this is the Journey to Inclusion initiative, a comprehensive disability training programme designed to support grassroots football clubs in creating more welcoming and accessible environments.
Launched in January 2024 and expanded for 2026, the initiative plays an important role in the Football Without Limits strategy, which aims to increase the number of registered disabled players to 28,300 by 2028. As part of this national approach and their wider Journey to Inclusion initiative, England Football are offering Disability Training for Clubs workshops across the country.
Join Hertfordshire FA to learn directly from those with hands-on experience of developing disability football. The session offers dedicated support for clubs looking to grow their provision, alongside practical advice, guidance, and the opportunity to connect with others working towards more inclusive environments. Attendees will leave better equipped with the knowledge and confidence to create a welcoming and accessible offer for disabled players.
Whether you already have a disability offer in place and are looking to expand, or you are just beginning to explore where to start, this free workshop is designed to support you at every stage of your journey.
Only one workshop is scheduled to take place in Hertfordshire this year, making this a unique opportunity to engage in and access training locally, so don’t miss out!

Date: Wednesday 3rd June
Time: 18:30 - 21:30
Venue: University of Hertfordshire, De Havilland Campus, AL10 9EU (Room W040)

England Football also provides a Disability Toolkit for Clubs, developed with the support of Activity Alliance. It offers resources to support clubs at every stage of their journey to inclusion. The online toolkit is filled with practical guidance, tips and resources to help develop an action plan, enabling the start or growth of disability provision.
