The Golf Trust aims to provide inclusive and accessible recreational golf opportunities for everyone. By breaking down barriers, they enable more people to experience the benefits of the game, with a particular focus on introducing or reintroducing golf to individuals with a range of disabilities.Currently, only 10% of The Golf Trust’s participants are women, and they are committed to changing this. By 2028, their goal is to introduce 10,000 women and girls with disabilities to the game of golf.
To support this goal, their Her Power Her Play initiative was launched in October 2025 to help address the gender and disability gap in physical activity participation, while also seeking to better understand the barriers faced by women with disabilities.
This June, the Her Power Her Play series continues at The Shire London, where The Golf Trust will host its third event, bringing together opportunities to play, learn and connect.
The day will include golf taster sessions delivered by expert coaches, lunch and networking opportunities, and talks from inspiring women with disabilities who will share their experiences and the barriers they have overcome to enjoy recreational sport. The panel will be announced soon.
This free event is designed to be inclusive and suitable for women with all disabilities and long-term health conditions, including physical, sensory and learning disabilities, neurodiversity and chronic conditions.
Experienced coaches will be on hand to adapt activities to individual needs. Thanks to specialist Paragolfer vehicles, participants who use a wheelchair or have limited mobility will have the opportunity to experience the unique freedom of standing to take a supported golf swing.
Come and be part of an empowering and informative day!
The Golf Trust are absolutely delighted to say they have secured funding from Herts Community Foundation to be able to offer every Hertfordshire resident attendee to this event the opportunity to continue learning to play golf for 6 weeks following the event!
