HAPpy Camps Reach 140 venues across Hertfordshire this Summer
Hertfordshire's HAPpy Camps bring summer fun and support to thousands of families during the summer holidays.

This summer thousands of children and families benefitted from Hertfordshire’s HAPpy Camps, a Department for Education-funded holiday scheme designed to support children in Reception to Year 11 who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
Delivered on behalf of Hertfordshire County Council; and working in partnership with Hertfordshire Community Foundation, the programme helps tackle holiday hunger and reduce the experience gap. More than 40,000 bookings were made across a variety of camps, which included free activities and nutritious meals throughout the holidays.
Across the county, 70 providers delivered a wide range of opportunities to give young people the chance to enjoy fun, active, and enriching experiences at 140 different venues. From zoo trips and climbing walls to arts and crafts, inflatables, science and technology, and sports sessions, there was something for everyone to take part in. Each camp also provided a healthy hot meal, supporting families during the long summer break.
HAPpy Camps continue to demonstrate the power of strong community partnerships and trusted local providers working together for children’s wellbeing. With the success of this summer’s programme, we are now looking forward to the return of HAPpy camps for children and families this winter.
