Exploring the Power of Green Social Prescribing

A seminar to explore how we can increase connections between people and nature to improve health and wellbeing.

In partnership with the Public Health Team at Hertfordshire County Council, and the Office of the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, we are holding a Green Social Prescribing seminar at the Weston Auditorium, University of Hertfordshire, on Monday 19th January, from 9.30am - 1pm. Join us for the chance to explore how we can work together across sectors, to help individuals feel better, build connections and build healthier, greener communities.

The current High Sheriff or Hertfordshire, Nicholas Buxton has adopted Nurture to Nature as the theme for his year in office and the conference is being organised in support of this.

Green Social Prescribing connects people with nature-based activities like walking groups, gardening, and conservation, to support mental and physical health. It’s not just for social prescribers. Anyone, working with individuals or communities can signpost or refer people to green activities, and we hope that you will be able to join us for an informative morning to explore how we can increase connections between people and nature, to enhance health and wellbeing.

The event will feature several keynote speakers and breakout sessions and will conclude with a networking buffet lunch at 1pm
