Run by StreetGames, this live online workshop is part of the series of sustainability workshops designed and developed to help build knowledge, skills and understanding on how to become a more sustainable organisation.
Funding applications are becoming increasingly competitive, so in order for an application to stand out it is essential that you know how to demonstrate the need for a project in a certain area or to meet a certain criteria. This interactive workshop will help you understand how to show the need for your project when applying for funding. You’ll learn how to gather and present evidence to make a strong case for support.
Who’s It For?
Anyone applying for funding to support community projects, especially in sport, youth work, or community development.
What You’ll Learn:
• Why understanding and demonstrating community need is vital for funding success.
• Different ways to gather evidence (e.g., talking to the community, using local data).
• How to present your evidence clearly in funding applications.
Key Topics:
• What funders look for when asking, “Why is your project needed?”
• Where to find data like local deprivation, health stats, and crime rates.
• How to consult your community and gather their views.
• Tips for linking community needs with funding priorities.
What to Expect:
• Group discussions
• Practical tasks to explore local needs
• Sharing ideas and learning from others
The workshop is very participatory so please come ready to join in, ask questions, and build your confidence in writing strong funding applications!
