ParkPlay is two hours of free community play every Saturday morning in your local park or public space! It's a safe, inclusive place for all the family to enjoy and play games together. junior parkrun is a series of events run by volunteers for the community around Herts in over 15 different locations including Hemel Hempstead, St. Albans and Hatfield. Children aged 4-14 can get active in open spaces and make their way around a 2k course with family. You can walk, jog, or run around, whatever suits you! Find out more at: parkrun.org.uk
Visit one of Hertfordshire’s wonderful open spaces
There are a lot of great parks to visit in Hertfordshire. Wrap up warm and go for a Winter stroll, be present and enjoy nature. You may wish to consider a visit to Ashridge Estate, Leavesden Country Park, Heartwood Forest, Panshanger Park, Broxbourne Woods, Sherrardswood Park and Cassiobury Park.
Cycle or walk down one of Hertfordshire’s old railway lines
When the old railway lines were decommissioned they became great cycling and walking routes. If you have children they are great places for them to cycle without having to cross roads. The Hertfordshire routes include:
