Analysis from the recent results from the Sport England Active Lives Children & Young People (CYP)CYP Survey 2023-24

Our Insight partners at Press Red, have analysed the most recent results from the Sport England Active Lives Children and Young People (CYP) Survey 2023-24 to provide an in-depth update of what CYP inactivity looks like across Hertfordshire.
An increase of 1% in activity levels for children and young people from Active Lives CYP survey 2023-24 compared to 2022-23. This is the highest percentage levels achieved since 2017-18 but also indicates challenges facing those where a child has two or more characteristics associated with being less active. Key characteristics indicated: Low affluence, Asian and Black Children, Girls and other gender (secondary-aged) and lack of access to park or field (secondary-aged). Those with none of these characteristics achieve 58% activity levels compared to 38% when someone has two or more of these characteristics.
