A Smash Hit for Coaching in Hertsmere

Active Local Cowley Hill team up with Table Tennis England and Hertsmere Women’s Table Tennis Club to deliver a coaching showcase.

A showcase session delivered in partnership with Hertsmere Table Tennis Club, Active Local Cowley Hill, and Table Tennis England. Evie Collier, the Coach Learning and Development Manager at Table Tennis England came down to Hertsmere Women’s Table Tennis Club to deliver a high-quality coaching session for both coaches and players. Evie, also an ex-Table Tennis England star and coach supported the development of emerging club coaches and showcased some superb Table Tennis skills. The event engaged 37 local residents, strengthening workforce development and community participation.

Evie Collier the Coach Learning and Development Manager at Table Tennis England, and ex player and coach shared her delight in this partnership:

‘Hertsmere Table Tennis Club is clearly about more than simply playing the game. It is about creating opportunities, building friendships, and empowering women and girls through sport. The dedication of Delphine and the wider club team is evident in the growth of the sessions and the positive culture that has been established.

Clubs like Hertsmere play a vital role in strengthening local communities and increasing female participation in sport. It was a privilege to witness first-hand the passion and commitment driving this club forward.’

Delphine Ighile from the club believes that partnership work is key to her clubs success:

‘Three strong partners, one shared vision HWTTC, Active Local Cowley Hill and Table Tennis England building a healthier, more active community.’

Delphine has taken the club from strength to strength and this session has helped her on that journey. The club are currently trying to build the youth side and increase the number of young females taking part in Table Tennis.
