NEW Action Rhymes
*NEW Action Rhymes
Keep the moves simple for young children. Sing more slowly so children have time to copy the actions. If a rhyme suggests children to move from the floor to standing (or back again), give them plenty of space and time to practice. Short, repeated chances are better than long sessions that can make children tired.
Adapt for younger children:
- Sing slowly and make the movements big and clear.
- Use a puppet or demonstrate the movements - puppets help children watch and join in.
- For children who find big movements hard, offer smaller or slower versions.
Extension:
Invite children to make up their own moves. This helps them be creative and lets you see who needs more help.
