#LetGirlsPlay Biggest Ever Football Session a success in Hertfordshire!

Over 125 schools in Hertfordshire took part in the #LetGirlsPlay Biggest Ever Football Session on Friday 8th March – International Women’s Day.

500 students from Beaumont School in St Albans got involved on the day, as did 600 pupils from the Dacorum School Sport Partnership area who were invited to Longdean School in Hemel Hempstead for a fun day full of football activities alongside two professional footballers, five community clubs and 50 Longdean Sports Leaders.
Year 5 and Year 6 pupils from Parkside Community Primary School in Borehamwood were joined by The Rt Hon Oliver Dowden CBE MP, who took part in some football drills with them under the watchful eye of Head Teacher Mr Soyka!

Afterwards, the pupils delivered a presentation on how the Lionesses have inspired them to be more active in school. A Q&A session, with some excellent questions from the Sports Leaders, followed.
