Mental health awareness for sport and physical activity
Provider: Mind in Mid Herts, 3 hours
We’ve listened to people living with mental health problems and people working in the sport and physical activity sectors to create a practical workshop that will help you:
- Understand common misconceptions about mental health and the impact of stigma and discrimination
- Identify the positive impact that being active has on physical and mental health
- Appreciate the barriers that stop people getting active
- Talk confidently about mental health
- Know where to signpost people to if they need support
- Identify practical actions to make your service more accessible for everyone
Minimum age: 16 years (designed for coaches, sport administrators, volunteers and front of house staff)

The OLLIE Foundation – Suicide Intervention Training
1 hour, half day, 1 day, 2 day and 3 day courses
OLLIE delivers a range of suicide awareness talks and training courses focusing on suicide awareness, prevention and intervention.
suicideTALK, safeTALK, ASIST and s2H have all been created by Canadian company LivingWorks Education.
LivingWorks Education are a world leader in suicide prevention. Their interactive, practical workshops support suicide prevention initiatives all over the world. Virtually anyone can learn the skills to save a life, and more than 1,000,000 people have attended since 1983. With a variety of workshops to suit all needs, there is a program for everyone who wants to help.

Youth Mental Health First Aid
Provider: Streetgames, 2 days, 1 day or 3 hours
Description – Learners will explore the most common mental health conditions experienced by young people and discover what youth and sport workers can do to prevent and/or intervene when needed. The ‘Lite’ version provides a taster of the content for the ‘Full’ course. Learners on the full course cover topics such as child and adolescent development, bullying and cyber bullying, substance misuse and protective factors.
Minimum age: 16 years
Price: – £75-300 (individual), £750-2500 (course) *Min. of 10 learners, max. 16 learners (20 “Lite” course)

Mental Health First Aid/Youth Mental Health First Aid
Provider: Pro-Action Herts, 2 days or 1 day
The Mental Health First Aid courses, give support, knowledge and confidence when you have a concern about a child or young person who maybe showing signs and symptoms of, or discloses mental ill health. As with First Aid, this course does not train you to be the professional but how to support the children/young people to better health through early invention.
Minimum age: 16 years
