If you would like to Get Back into running or start running for the first time, why not go along to your nearest parkrun to walk/jog with others who are trying to get into running as well?   Parkruns are weekly, timed 5k runs that are for every ability.    Many people start off walking at the beginning and gradually progress this to a walk/jog until they are able to run the full distance.   Parkruns are for the local community, their ethos is to create a welcoming environment to support each other to get active and enjoy running together.    Further information about parkrun, is detailed below:


FREE weekly events

There are 15 adult and 6 junior parkruns that take place every weekend across Hertfordshire.

Parkruns are free, weekly timed 5km runs that happen every Saturday morning starting at 9am. You can walk, jog or run. They are open to all ages (from 4) and abilities. Children under the age of 11 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Junior Parkrun takes place at 9am on Sunday mornings. These are a shorter distance of 2km and are free, timed runs open to children aged 4 – 14 years. Adults are allowed to run with the children, you just can’t go through the finish funnel and collect a timing chip.
