Herts Year of Physical Activity 2018
Move more, feel great!
Throughout 2018 we’ve been encouraging Hertfordshire residents to get active. The Year of Physical Activity 2018 aims to showcase the range of activities that take place each week for people to socialise and join others to be active. Hertfordshire is also blessed with beautiful countryside and many parks to explore. To find a local park to get active in visit www.parksherts.co.uk.
The campaign, known informally as HertsYOPA18, has been following a format of themed months. We’ve had some fantastic themes including young people, older adults, walking, cycling, parks, families and women and girls and we’ve still got lots more left that you can get involved with, workplace wellbeing, celebrate sport and dance month.
Our friendly mascot, YOPA, is making his way around Hertfordshire to many local events, encouraging children and adults alike to get involved.
All activities are being promoted on social media. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook to find out about events and activities taking place near you.
If you’re a sports club or organisation that runs sport or physical activity sessions and wants to promote your events and activities, please get in touch with us.
John O’Callaghan, Director at Herts Sports Partnership said:
‘We are pleased to be one of the leading organisations in what will hopefully be a momentous year for sport and physical activity in Hertfordshire. We continually strive to get more people, more active, more often, and are thankful to our partners’ on-going support in doing so.’
