Councillor Annie Brewster is a local magistrate, District Ward Councillor for Wheathampstead, Portfolio Holder for Sport, Leisure and Heritage at St Albans City and District Council and a former Mayor of St Albans.

She was also elected to Hertfordshire County Council in May 2017, and is a member of that Council’s Public Health, Prevention and Performance Cabinet Panel.

At the age of 17, Annie won silver in the 1500m at the UK Championships and at 35 she took the gold medal at the British Championship for speed walking. She’s a passionate advocate for the power of sport and physical activity to positively impact on the lives of young people and in making our communities safer and better places to live and work.
