Get Fit for free... and raise money!

More and more people in Hertfordshire are taking to their local streets and parks to get in shape for summer. A new website from Herts Sports Partnership will help people do just that, sign-posting them to great local walks, cycle routes, woodlands and commons. The web site www.lovetomove.org.uk, part of the partnership’s Love to Move campaign, aims to help people get active within their community and also includes information on local swimming pools, dance, badminton, pilates and other community based activities.

Judy Shardlow, Marketing Manager at the Hertfordshire Sports Partnership said: “The summer months are a great time to get out a bit more and join in with community and charity sponsored walks. The past few years have seen an increasing number of community walks, cycle rides, and runs springing up across the county. They are a great way to get active, meet new friends, enjoy some lovely scenery and raise money.”

She added: “Central to our campaign is a fun interactive web site: www.lovetomove.org.uk which has links to free maps and information so that you can discover local walks and upcoming events in the community. It is also a great place to find some useful tips for walking and advice to keep you safe.”

The web site also allows you to take part in the Love to Move Challenge to win a Ramblers Worldwide Holiday for two adults in the Lake District, or one of five Wii consoles and Wii Fit Plus.
