Playground 2 Podium
Playground to Podium is a dedicated initiative designed to identify and nurture disabled young people and disabled adults with the potential to be elite athletes. However, the inclusive nature of the initiative ensures that disabled people of all abilities are given the opportunity to participate in sport. This is achieved through 4 interventions;
• Continued Professional Development (CPD) for teachers to support and identify talent
• Multi-skills clubs for children aged 7-11 to improve fundamental movement skills
• Multi-sport clubs for children aged 11-18 to provide out of school hours sport-specific sessions
• Identifying ability days for higher ability athletes

AABS (Advocacy and Activity Buddy Scheme)
The English Federation of Disability Sports (EFDS) has developed the AABS with the aim to increase sporting participation of disabled people through volunteers' help. The EFDS provides free resources and training tools to train volunteers to motivate and encourage participation of those members needing extra support and encouragement to participate in sport.

English Federation of Disability Sports (EFDS) Inclusive Health Check
According to the EFDS, 38% of people believe that the main barrier to participation in sport for people with disabilities is a lack of suitable clubs. The EFDS club health check is available for all sports clubs to assess how inclusive they really are. It also offers suggestions as to how to improve their inclusiveness, with a downloadable pack to help make the club more accessible for disabled people.
