office challenge ideas

This section will provide you with ideas for activity challenges you could set up in your office.   You don't have to do all of them, they are just ideas to get you started. The success stories section may also give you some inspiration.

4 Week Pedometer Challenge

Challenge your staff to see who can take the most steps each day over a 4 week period.  You can register all participants for the challenge on our website (from Jan 08).  You have the option to compete against each other as individuals, or if you prefer have an inter-departmental competition.  It doesn't matter if team sizes are uneven, we will work out the average steps per person for the league table.  You will be provided with a league table each week.

In addition to the above, why not provide feedback to your staff and track how far your staff have walked each week.  For example, how long would it take you to walk from John O'Groats to Lands End.

Did you know:

a person who walks 10,000 steps per day will burn between 1,750 and 2,450 extra calories per week compared to someone who takes an average amount of steps (between 3,000 and 5,000 steps a day).  This is the energy equivalent of gaining or losing half a pound each week.
